Patapsco
Waste Water Treatment Plant
Baltimore, Maryland
The principals of this firm were key personnel in the design and
preparation of construction documents for this facility, a part
of a multi-billion dollar effort undertaken by EPA in the early
1980's to modernize water treatment systems throughout the nation.
The Patapsco plant was one of several where Mr. Grodzki was part
of the design team, and also project manager for the preparation
of construction documents. The water treatment facility was state-of-the-art
at the time of its design. It includes administration offices with
a visitors center, a laboratory wing, a maintenance and repair wing;
at the end of the complex is the novel, three story treatment plant.
The treatment system was vertically stacked, to enable gravity to
aid in the processing of the waste water.
